JUNE 30th ~ Baby 'Lucas Costa' Fund

Monday, June 30th. from 5:30 to 7:30.

We need your 'individual' help in a big way this time...

A six month young baby boy named Lucas Costa, the son of our friend and waitress at Mimi's Cafe, Val Costa, fell two stories last weekend from an upstairs apartment balcony...a pure and unfortunate accident.

Val needs prayers and financial support to make it thru the next few
months. She's unable to work at Mimi's Cafe right now because she has to take care of Lucas, 24/7 until he's out of danger. It's truly amazing that he's even alive?! Lucas is in a complete body sling to help heal his broken baby bones...a hard cast would stunt his bone growth. They are still running more tests for possible brain damage or spinal cord injury related problems.

A group of our 1904 World's Fair Charitable Foundation officers and board members {namely me, Cicardi Bruce, Rob Mitchell, John Walsh, Richard Terry, Bruce Feinstein and Ralph Turney) have been meeting every Monday morning for our Business Breakfast Club (BBC) gathering at Mimi's Cafe in Chesterfield Valley. One of our waitresses, Val Costa (a new citizen of the U.S. originally from Brazil) has been working there as a waitress for the past four years. She's a single mother of four children with no fatherly or financial support at all for them...except for her job at Mimi's, she has no way to make money for her kids.

Val works for Kellyann Higgins, the Partner and General Manager of Mimi's Cafe in Chesterfield Valley...she's been a good friend to our breakfast club group for over a year now. She and I are hosting a fundraiser at Mimi's Cafe, which is located directly in front of and across the street from Sam's Club, on Monday, June 30th. from 5:30 to 7:30. Mim's will provide a totally 'comp' gathering with food and beverage at no charge. My hope is that our foundation members will attend, meet mother Val and baby Lucas and help in some way...financially, prayers or otherwise.

Below is the email I just received from Kellyann Higgins from Mim's Cafe that gives you more detail on this situation that faces the mother, Val, and her new 'miracle child', Lucas. We are all shocked that he's still alive, but have no idea at this point what his physical, mental or emotional condition will be in the long run.

Thanks for your continued support of our charitable foundation. I hope you can help in this particular and individual case.

The 1904 World's Fair Charitable Foundation OFO's [Over Forty Organization] & UFO's [Under Forty Organization] invites you to our inaugural "Christmas in July" celebration! This also happens to be Rae Cardwells 55th. birthday party...don't tell her because it's a surprise.

Peppertini's Piano Bar & Grill [314-469-2210]

This "Christmas in July" event will raise needed funds for "Joe's Place" which offers a group of 'homeless' teenage boys a warm place to sleep, regular meals and someone to provide guidance and direction to them. Please help support these 'homeless teenagers' towards succeeding in life.

We will have a raffle, a cash bar, appetizers provided by Peppertini's and great music!

Your $20.00 donation at the door will include a one year new/renewal membership to our charity, plus plenty of fun and networking for your business.
